Norwegian artist Lokoy pays homage his idol Tyler, The Creator with new single ‘Baby Blue’, featuring Scandinavian hip-hop sensation Safario. Firstly, we’ll let Lokoy take the floor to explain the motivation behind this track, as he says “Everything is very inspired by tyler, the creator. The beat is raw, heavily compressed with jazzy chords. In addition, all the drum samples are acoustic drums which give some warmth to the sound. I wanted someone who could rap at it but didn't know about anyone at the time that could be relevant. two years later I became acquainted with Kacper (Safario).” You can hear the Igor-esque haphazardness throughout ‘Baby Blue’. At times, it flows with contemporary hip-hop and jazz ease, while at other times, it drops off into unpredictable production. There’s chunky beats, hypeman samples, raw vocals, and wavelength synths.
